The Flag Project at Rockefeller
In 2020, I created a piece titled "HALO", an illustration poster reflecting social distancing in daily life post-pandemic. I also developed a simple animation where numerous circles appear in people's lives, intertwining and isolating the individuals within them. This work was selected for the Flag Project, the first public art exhibition in New York City following the COVID-19 pandemic. It was displayed on flags at Rockefeller Center's outdoor plaza during the summer of 2020, and the exhibition returned in February 2021. The flags from this series have since been acquired by Rockefeller Center.
One day, everybody has a halo. It’s a circle, a way of practicing social distancing. The corona epidemic in 2020 is a huge lesson for us as human beings, it is also be a start for new relationship between human and nature.
